2025 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

2025 Foundation (Prep) 2025 open are now Open.

You can find information and resources about the new timeline, including factsheets, at  Starting school | vic.gov.au (www.vic.gov.au)

What you need to do:

    1. Use Find my School to locate your designated neighbourhood school (referred to as your local school) and other nearby government schools. * Ballarat Primary School can only accept Applications for Enrolment forms from families within the Catchment Area or have a sibling who will be enrolled at the school for the 2025 school year.
    2. Download the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents and Carers.’ The pack will be available from Monday 15 April 2024 and will include an application form. The school may also provide you with a copy of the form to complete.
    3. Complete Student Application Form and email to the school via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or drop to the Office.
    4. Student Application forms must be received  by Friday 26 July 2024.
    5. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 29 July and Friday 9 August 2024. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 23 August 2024.
    6. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.
    7. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 29 January 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by the school as they are received, in accordance with the Department of Education’s Placement Policy.

2025 Prep School Tour is scheduled for Tuesday 7th May 2024 from 9.30am –11am. Please register your interest in attending by calling the school office on 5332 1301.

Please note, only families/students who are confirmed to be in our catchment area/sibling should attend the school tour.


By enrolling at Ballarat Primary School (Dana St), you are making a choice to join a vibrant, welcoming community that is supportive of all members.

DSPS has updated and digitalised our Enrolment Form and associated forms.

To move forward with enrolment at Ballarat Primary School ( Dana Street) please complete the following steps.

Enrolment Process.

Confirm your residential address is within our catchment area at www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au

  1. Out of Zone? At this time, we can only accept SIBLING Out of Zone applications.
    Out of Zone , Sibling Applications must complete and additional DET Application form – pdfSee Student Application Form.
  2. Confirmed in DSPS Zone.
    Please complete and return the following documents outlined within the enrolment pack.

Foundation to Yr 6 : All Return

Yr 3 – 6 Only

Supply supporting documentation: (DSPS Office can provide copies of any original documents)
