At Ballarat Primary School (Dana St), we promote and offer opportunities for our students to develop their areas of interest and passion, while discovering new talents and developing strengths.

School Camps

Each year, we offer a camp for students in the middle or senior years of the school. We offer a grade 3/4 camp and grade 5/6 camp in alternate years.  The emphasis of camp is developing personal and interpersonal skills, such as resilience, optimism, goal setting and collaboration with others.

Sport

We offer many opportunities for students to develop and strengthen their skills in and commitment to sport. Through our school’s Athletics sports and Cross country event, participation, sportsmanship and growth are emphasised. Senior students often go on to compete at higher levels after the school event.  Our students also represent the school in many events such as basketball, netball, cricket, football, golf and swimming.

Performing Arts

Our students are offered the opportunity to learn an instrument or access speech and singing related lessons on-site, with specialist teachers. Students can learn piano/keyboard, drums, guitar, violin, speech &drama and singing.

We have a biennial concert series, where all students participate. Our students are very excited to showcase their talents in the evening concert.
